Tax and Customs

Comprehensive resources on managing your tax liabilities, customs declarations, and importing/exporting goods through UK borders.

Self Assessment for Non-Residents

You must complete a Self Assessment tax return if you live abroad and have income from the UK. The deadline is usually 31 January following the end of the tax year.

Customs Declarations

If you are moving goods in and out of the UK, you must submit a customs declaration. Depending on the goods, you may have to pay VAT and import duty.

Failure to declare taxable goods can result in seizure of assets and severe financial penalties at the border.

VAT Registration

Non-established taxable persons (NETPs) must register for UK VAT if they make any taxable supplies in the UK, regardless of the VAT registration threshold.
